Design Review Program Improvements

What’s Happening Now?

Our Design Review Program Improvements will identify, evaluate, and implement organizational, structural, and procedural changes to revamp and refresh our Design Review Program. We’re hosting community open houses this fall to discuss possible program improvements:

  • October 14, 6:00 – 7:30 p.m.
    University Heights Community Center
    5031 University Way NE

The purpose of these community open houses is to present key preliminary recommendations for program improvements and get input on these ideas from community members and stakeholders.

We have been discussing possible Design Review Program Improvements since last spring with a 16-member advisory group. We also conducted stakeholder interviews, and an online survey and an online open house. Now we’re forming specific recommendations for ways to improve the program based the input we’ve received.

Project Goals

  • Identify options to make the design review process more efficient and accessible
  • Improve community dialogue on design review
  • Identify new and emerging technologies for more effective community engagement

The End Result

We will submit a set of recommendations to improve and refresh our Design Review Program to the Mayor and City Council by the end of 2015.
