Special Events Advisory for Wednesday, Sept. 9 -Sunday, Sept. 13
SEATTLE—The Seattle Department of Transportation (SDOT) advises travelers to be aware of several events happening around the city through the weekend that will affect area traffic. The Mariners play every day this week. The Seattle Summer Parkways is Saturday in the Central District. The San Gennaro Festival and the Holy Family Community Street Fair run all weekend. UW Huskies Football is Saturday morning at Husky Stadium. Comedian actor Kevin Hart performs twice at KeyArena on Saturday night.
MARINERS AT SAFECO FIELD:
- Mariners vs. Texas, Wednesday, Sept. 9, 7:10 p.m. About 21,000 people are expected to attend.
- Mariners vs. Texas, Thursday, Sept.10, 12:40 p.m. About 29,000 people are expected to attend.
- Mariners vs. Colorado, Friday, Sept.11, 7:10 p.m. About 24,000 people are expected to attend.
- Mariners vs. Colorado, Saturday, Sept. 12, 6:10 p.m. About 31,000 people are expected to attend.
- Mariners vs. Colorado, Sunday, Sept. 13, 1:10 p.m. About 29,000 people are expected to attend.
UW HUSKIES FOOTBALL AT HUSKY STADIUM:
- Huskies vs. Sacramento State, Saturday, September 12, 11 a.m. About 70,000 people are expected to attend.
FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 11 – SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER, 13:
San Gennaro Festival: Italian Street Festival in the Georgetown Neighborhood honoring St. Gennaro, the Patron Saint of Naples. Festival closes South Angelo Street from 13th Avenue South to Ellis Avenue South and a portion of Ellis Avenue South. The celebration runs Fridayfrom 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., Saturday from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. About 1,700 people are expected to attend.
SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 12 – SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER, 13:
Holy Family Community Street Fair: Food, live music, pony rides and a chili and salsa cook off in the Roxbury neighborhood. 20th Avenue SW between SW Roxbury Street and SW 98th Street will be closed from 3 p.m. Friday until 7 p.m. Sunday. Festival hours are Saturday 9 a.m. to 10 p.m., and Sunday 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. About 1, 490 people are expected to attend.
SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 12:
Seattle Summer Parkways: Hosted by SDOT, join us to traverse through the Central District neighborhood on a three mile bicycle route linking parks, community centers and other community spaces. Activities and events are planned in parks and centers along the route from11 a.m. to 3 p.m. About 2,000 people are expected to attend.
Central Area Block Party: The annual celebration of community and diversity with music, food, art and kid activities. The block party closes Cherry Street from 23rd to 25th avenues and runs from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. About 1,500 people are expected to attend.
Tilth Annual Harvest Fair: Celebrate harvest season with food, workshops, cooking demonstrations and other activities at Meridian Park and Playground in the Wallingford neighborhood from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. About 3,400 people are expected to attend.
Night Market and Autumn Moon Festival: More than 30 food trucks and an international night market fill the streets from 6 p.m. to midnight. Sixth Avenue South and South Maynard streets from South Jackson to South Weller streets will be closed between 8 a.m. until 3 a.m. Sunday. About 5,000 people are expected to attend.
Kevin Hart: What Now Tour Concerts at the Key Arena at 7 p.m. and again at 10:30 p.m. About 10,000 people are expected to attend each show.
SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 13:
Women of Wonder 5 & 10K: The 3rd Annual 5 and 10K around Greenlake Park and East Greenlake Way North benefitting Team Survivor Northwest. Event runs from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the Community Center and the run uses half of East Greenlake Way North between 9:15 and 10:30 a.m. About 2,000 people are expected to participate.
