SEATTLE – The Seattle Department of Transportation (SDOT) advises travelers to be aware of several events happening around the city through the weekend that will affect area traffic. One Direction performs Wednesday at CenturyLink Field. The Bite of Seattle runs Friday through the weekend at the Seattle Center. Manchester United vs. Club America soccer match is Friday night at CenturyLink, and the Sounders play CenturyLink Saturday night. The Chinatown Seafair Parade and Rush concert at KeyArena are both happening Sunday night.

Go Klondike Legacy Day: Celebration of the day gold struck Seattle with period entertainment, salmon BBQ, and kids activities. The festival is on 2nd Avenue S between S Jackson and S Main Streets from 12:00 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. with the street closing to traffic at9:00 a.m. About 750 people are expected to attend.

Bite of Seattle: The annual Seattle food festival runs from Friday, July 17 through Sunday, July 19th at the Seattle Center. The festival is open from 11:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. Friday and Saturday, and until 8:00 p.m. Sunday. About 50,000 people are expected to attend each day, so please ahead with this in mind.
SATURDAY, JULY 18:
West Seattle Float Dodger 5K and Grand Parade: A fun-run before the floats on the California Avenue SW parade route from SW Admiral to SW Edmunds Streets. Chinatown Seafair Parade: Celebrating community culture and diversity, marching bands, clowns, floats and a 100-foot dragon will parade through the International District. The parade starts at 7:00 p.m. on S King Street from 8th Avenue S to 5th Avenue S, turns southbound on 5th, eastbound on S Weller back to 8th Avenue S. Streets are closed from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m.
Bon Odori Festival: The Japanese Buddhist Festival honoring ancestors with traditional music and dancing runs Saturday and Sunday. The event features Japanese food booths, martial arts performances, and crafts. The Bon Odori Festival runs along S Main Street between 14th and 16th Avenues S from 4:00 p.m. – 11:00 p.m. Saturday, and 3:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. Sunday. The street closes 5:00 p.m. Friday and will reopen 11:30 p.m. Sunday. About 4,900 people are expected to attend each day.
Seafair Expo and Triathlon: The expo starts Saturday at noon in Seward Park, followed by the Seafair Triathlon and Kid’s Triathlon Sunday morning at 6:30 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. The cycle course follows the shores of Lake Washington from Seward Park north to the I-90 Bridge. The course starts on Minor Avenue at Madison Street, northbound to Seneca, eastbound to E. Union St, northbound on 12th Avenue to Aloha turning westbound to 11th Avenue and southbound to the race start.
