Traffic Advisory for Friday, May 8 – Sunday, May 10

SEATTLE – The Seattle Department of Transportation (SDOT) advises travelers to be aware of events happening around the city through the weekend that will add to area traffic. The Mariners play today through Sunday at Safeco Field. There is a run and walk Saturday in South Lake Union and Capitol Hill to Westlake Park respectively. On Sunday there’s a run at the Seattle Center; Neil Diamond plays KeyArena Sunday night.

MARINERS AT SAFECO FIELD:

Friday, May 8, 7:10 p.m. game time, Mariners vs. Oakland, About 28,000 people are expected to attend.

Saturday, May 9, 6:10 p.m. game time, Mariners vs. Oakland, About 34,000 people are expected to attend. Sunday, May 10, 1:00 pm game time, Mariners vs. Oakland, About 29,000 people are expected to attend.

SATURDAY, MAY 9:

Lung Force Walk: The walk is limited to sidewalks and Leaves Denny Park at 9:00 a.m. following a three mile loop through South Lake Union. The route: Northbound on Westlake Avenue N to Lake Union Park on Valley Street, southbound on Westlake Avenue, eastbound on Mercer Street, southbound on Fairview Avenue N, westbound on Denny Way to Denny Park arriving at 1:00p.m.  About 650 people are expected to participate. http://action.lung.org/site/TR?fr_id=10450&pg=entry

Cannabis Freedom March: The march leaves Volunteer Park and will have Seattle Police escort at 1:00 p.m.  The route: Eastbound on E Prospect Street, southbound on 10thAvenue E, southbound on Broadway, westbound on E Pine Street to Westlake Park arriving at 2:00 p.m.    About 550 people are expected to participate. https://sites.google.com/site/cannabisfreedommarch/home

SUNDAY, MAY 10:

The Color Run:  Mercer Street will be closed at 5:30 a.m. between 1st and 4th Avenue N for set-up. The full route closure begins at 7:15 a.m. The race starts at 8:00 a.m. at 300 Mercer Street.  The route: eastbound on Mercer Street,  southbound on 4th Avenue N, eastbound on Republican Street, southbound on 5thAvenue N (using southbound lanes only), southbound on Cedar Street, southbound on 4th Ave., a U-turn at Seneca Street, northbound on 4th Avenue, westbound on Denny Way, northbound on 2ndAvenue N to Seattle Center at 11:30 a.m. About 9,000 people are expected to participate. http://thecolorrun.com/seattle/
