Bee Aware!

Aune, a neighbor from Bryant, shared some important information on bees on “Nextdoor”.

“Since we have quite a few hobby beekeepers in our neighborhoods now, I thought to reach out and let you all know that with our exceptional warm weather, and Spring being about 10 week ahead of schedule, the honey bees are also very active and ahead of their schedule! Coming out super strong of the warm winter we had, they are able to forage on spring flowers and building up their numbers. That also means their swarm season will be super early this year! We had already a reported swam in the Wallingford neighborhood! They are very amazing and important insects!

Please DO NOT spray them with any poison!!!!  If you see a swam or honey bees trying to get into a home structure please reach out the Puget Sound Beekeeper Association ~ go to their website:  http://www.pugetsoundbees.org/psba-swarm-list/  and contact one of our beekeeper to collect the bees.”
