On Saturday, Feb 21 there was a “Find It, Fix It” Tour in the U District. The Mayor and city officials walked around and saw the area up close, and had a chance to talk directly with members of the community.
Part of the reason for the tour was to publicize the “Find It, Fix It” City of Seattle smartphone app. This easy to use app allows you to report graffiti, potholes, streetlight issues, as well as other concerns. You are encouraged to use a valid email address, so that you can get info back when the issue is addressed.
This app is a good way to report graffiti, which is an on going issue in Northeast Seattle.
The best part of this walking meeting was the interesting people you get to meet, like the owner of a sandwich shop on the Ave, the person responsible for all streetlights in the City of Seattle, or the people out advocating for better sidewalks for seniors.
Several news organizations covered the tour. Here is a link to a video report on KIRO.
